The track for the Nehru Trophy Boat Race is around 1400 meters long, and it starts from the Eastern part of the lake called “Punnamda”. The oarsmen row their boats through a 10-meter-wide track, making it an exciting event to witness. Hundreds of oarsmen rowing a Snake Boat, also known as “Chundanvallam,” is a spectacular sight to see. The Snake Boats are over 100 feet long and are not the only attraction of this competition. The main purpose of the event is to honor the late Prime Minister of India.
In addition to participating in the race, there are special places designated for the audience of the Nehru Trophy Boat Race. The tickets are available in different segments, such as Tourist Gold and Silver, Rose Corner, Victory Lane, All view, lake view, and lawn, etc. The maximum denomination per ticket is Rs. 2,000 for the Tourist Gold package, and the Rs. 50 package is for lawn viewers.
