A recent addition to the festival is the ‘Janapada Kalavahini’, a concert of folk songs that adds to the festival’s charm. The ‘Jumbo Savari’, held in the nearby town of Hospet, is similar to the Dashera elephant march. Another highlight of the festival is the ‘Light and Sound Show’, which takes place across the 15 km of Hampi running through the banks of Tungabadra.

Hospet, being a travel hub, provides convenient access to other parts of the country, enabling tourists to visit Hampi with ease. Visitors to the festival also take the opportunity to explore Hampi’s numerous attractions, including the Queen’s Bath, the Lotus Mahal, the elephant stables, the Vitthal temple, Ugra Narasimha, the Virupaksha temple, among others. These historical monuments, built during the reign of the great Vijayanagar ruler, Krishna Deva Raya, are known for their large dimensions, florid ornamentation, and delicate carvings.

For those who enjoy shopping for traditional ornaments, Hampi is the perfect place to indulge. The Hampi Festival offers visitors a chance to immerse themselves in the culture of Karnataka and experience the grandeur of a bygone era.
